Privacy Policy

Effective August 12, 2026

Summary

Artifact Desk is designed to keep your data private. Your artifact contents are processed entirely on your local device and are never uploaded to our servers. We only collect minimal network metadata required for license activation, updates, and server stability.

Local Files

The application only reads files that you explicitly select and open. It does not scan your filesystem automatically. We do not access, collect, or transmit the contents of your artifacts for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose. Local settings and recovery data are stored solely on your machine.

License Activation

If you purchase a Pro license, the license key is stored securely in your operating system's native credential storage. During trial, activation, validation, or deactivation, the application sends our Cedarwood license service the product identifier and a product-specific hash derived from your computer's stable identifier. Paid-license operations also send the license key and activation instance identifier. The raw platform identifier and artifact contents are not transmitted.

Updates and Downloads

When the application checks for updates or downloads new versions, our servers log standard request data such as IP address, timestamp, and user agent. This is retained temporarily for security and stability purposes.

Support and Warnings

If you contact us for support, please do not include confidential or sensitive information unless it is necessary. We process only the data required to resolve your support inquiry.

Payments

Cedarwood Labs is the seller. Payments are processed through Stripe-hosted Checkout. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number; Stripe processes payment and billing information under its own privacy terms.

Website

This website is delivered as a static site and does not use advertising trackers or a behavioral analytics SDK at launch. Hosting providers may retain standard request logs for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.

Retention

We retain network logs and metadata only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described above, depending on the provider, legal requirements, and security needs. License activation data is retained for the lifetime of the product to validate your purchase.

Service Providers and International Transfers

We rely on service providers including Stripe and our hosting infrastructure to operate the service. These providers may process limited purchase, license, and network metadata in jurisdictions outside your own, subject to their terms and applicable law.

Security

While we use commercially reasonable measures to protect data, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure.

Children's Privacy

Artifact Desk is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

You can deactivate a license, clear local settings, or request deletion of your support history. To exercise these choices, contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date.
